How to use the Flooring Program
Call Wade Likness at Tri-Jay (403 253-4441) to arrange a meeting to discuss
flooring options. If you can call a week or so ahead of time, he can measure
a few units so you will have actual figures to work with. Wade can also
provide unbiased advice about flooring choices that other co-ops have
found to work well for them. Once you’ve narrowed the choice of flooring
down a bit, some sample books can usually be left with you.
If you have not previously used the program for flooring, you will want
to read the Flooring Contract, which describes the obligations of your
co-op, SACHA, and Tri-Jay. Once you’ve decided on the type of flooring,
you will quickly receive a written estimate from Tri-Jay Carpet. Fill
out both sides of the Flooring Selection form (in the “Forms and Applications”
folder of your binder) which details what type of flooring has been selected
for each room of the unit. On the other side of that form, there is a
standard damage waiver and written permission for the installers to enter
the unit for the purpose of installing flooring.
You will receive written guarantees for materials and installation with
your invoice. You will also receive written information about how to care
for your new flooring.
Examine the flooring carefully upon installation (refer to the flooring
deficiency form for information about what to look for). The installer,
the co-op liaison, and the member (whenever possible) will sign the Flooring
Completion form. The co-op and Tri-Jay will both keep one copy.
You will receive an invoice from SACHA shortly after your flooring has
been installed. It is due upon receipt.
Supply Only Pricing:
Even greater savings are possible if your co-op wants “supply-only pricing”.
If you already have an installer you trust, you can still enjoy cost savings
by ordering complete rolls of flooring from Tri-Jay.
