Buy A Net Maleria Prevention

6 Bucks, Buy-A-Net, Save A Life

Just $6 buys a mosquito net for a family in Uganda and prevents them from contracting the deadly disease of maleria.  More children die from malaria in Africa than from AIDS.  Sleeping under mosquito netting treated with repellent will prevent the mosquitoes carrying malaria from biting while they sleep.  A net costs only $5.40 but for so many poor families that expenditure is not possible.  Also lacking is the training on how a mosquito net can help.  A $6 donation provides both the net and the training.

Carol Davis, a long-time member of Sarcee Meadows Housing Co-op, has made a commitment to raising funds in Calgary for this project in conjunction with BUY A NET Malaria Prevention Group – a Canadian NGO group.
