First Calgary Savings SACHIP Program:

The SACHIP program began in 1996, when SACHA and First Calgary Savings created a partnership based on the principals of co-operation. It is the most popular Co-op Advantage program. Interest is paid on the daily balance in the operating/chequing accounts.  The formula is based on Prime - 1.75%.  The first .60% goes to SACHA and the remaining percentage goes to the individual participating co-ops.

Service Charges
Less than 50 units - $10.00 per month
50 to 100 units $17.00 per month
100 + units $30.00 per month


Individual Member Banking Plan:

The SACHIP Individual Member Plan is available to individuals living in any member co-op which uses the First Calgary Savings SACHIP plan. The individual plan provides both reduced service charges and premium interest rates on deposits.

50% Off Service Charges:
Members receive a 50% reduction on the “Bank Direct” and/or the “Choice” account package.

Interest Bonus:
Members are also eligible for a 0.50% interest bonus on First Calgary Savings posted rates, for all regular term deposits and registered plan term deposits. This bonus cannot be used in conjunction with special term deposits or special registered plan term deposits.

How it works
If you would like to open a new account with First Calgary or change your existing account to take advantage of this unique program, just drop by one of First Calgary's branches and talk to a Personal Banking Representative.

This is not an automated process. Each individual must identify himself or herself as a SACHA member to be eligible for the SACHIP Individual Member Plan. Branch employees will be able to identify eligible individuals using their address. These programs will be reviewed each year with the intention of running as long as the SACHA/First Calgary Savings relationship continues. First Calgary Savings and SACHA will keep working toward enhancing and improving the program.
